Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov, a meeting of the Board of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic is being held.

At the beginning of the meeting, Akylbek Japarov presented a brief report on a number of the country’s achievements over the past three years and the first half of this year. He noted that the current situation in the country creates favorable conditions for economic development, emphasizing the need to use this opportunity.

“According to the International Republican Institute, Kyrgyzstan demonstrates unique results, in particular, support for the course of the state authorities is 82%. Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth demonstrates sustainable development – the average GDP growth rate in 2023 was 7%, and according to the National Statistical Committee, in the first half of 2024, growth was 8.1%, reaching a total of 559 billion soms,” said Akylbek Japarov.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers added that without taking into account Kumtor, the growth rate of the national economy was 9.9%.

“In previous years, economic growth was associated with Kumtor. However, at present, growth is recorded without Kumtor. This can be considered a historic event. In 2023, we crossed a historic milestone – the country’s GDP amounted to 1 trillion 229 billion soms (13 billion 981 million US dollars), which is significantly higher than the figures for previous years. Thanks to a balanced monetary policy, inflation in January-June 2024 amounted to 2.4% in terms of growth rates of consumer prices and tariffs in the republic,” he said.
